OUR RICH DIVERSITY IS OUR COLLECTIVE STRENGTH

 

Concrete objectives of the partnership:
a) encouraging students to learn foreign languages, increase of motivation
b) improvement of language skills and better use of English
c) learning to live in peace together
d) better knowledge among students about: culture, history, traditions, customs in each country
e) better knowledge among students ,teachers and all people about rich diversity as collective  strength
f) promoting the national identity and culture of each country involved in the project
g) promoting  and improving the use of ITC
h) promoting the project and all the activities carried out within the project

IMPACT

 

Impact on Pupils:
- encouraging pupils to have a part and volunteer for social activities

Impact on the schools:
- schools will be role-models for other schools in their country

- creating opportunities for the pupils to spend time with participant pupils will positively affect educational sphere of the influence at schools

- cooperation between partner schools will also be continued after the project
- promotion of the school in the local environment and in the world
- educational staff and pupils will be more experienced in international projects

Impact on the participating institutions:
- having prestige in the towns, cities or regions
- partners' cooperation with local authorities will help to promote towns, cities, regions.
- encouraging other regional schools to take part in international projects
- promoting the activities in the regional schools will help to advertise the ideas of the Comenius

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

 

In the project Turkish school is the coordinator and schools from Italy,Spain,Poland,Romania,Greece, and Czech Republic are the partners of the project.By the use of internetwe will ensure the active envolvement of all partners.Schools will work together in common partnership activities and distribute the tasks to work during the project.
1.Turkish School:
Coordinating the project and all partners.Creating the web site of the project,organizing concert and folk dance show,organizing kermiss,preparing wall panels,preparing mini-dictionary on Turkish language and preparing booklets and planting trees for the memory of the project,arranging Collective Strength Walk in the town.
2.Polish School:
Organizing concert and folk dance show,organizing kermiss,preparing wall panels,preparing mini-dictionary on Polsih  language and preparing booklets about traditions and custom.
3.Greek School:
Preparing cookbook about traditional food,organizing concert and folk dance show,organizing kermiss,preparing wall panels,preparing mini-dictionary on Greek  language and preparing booklets about traditions and customs and planting trees for the memory of the project.
4.Czech School:
Organizing concert and folk dance show,organizing kermiss,preparing wall panels,preparing mini-dictionary on Czech  language and preparing booklets about traditions and customs.

5.Romanian School:
Arranging seminars to teach simple expressions on native language,organizing concert and folk dance show,organizing kermiss,preparing wall panels,preparing mini-dictionary on Romanian  language and preparing booklets about traditions and customs and planting trees for the memory of the project.

All the activities planned in the project are correlated with the teaching curriculum of the following subjects and educational activities of the partner schools:

a) English- elements of history, literature, vocabulary and grammatical structures related to                                
    culture, art, tolerance, texts from English literature,
    (methods: language exercises, drama, discussion panel, theatre workshops, conferences)
b) Civics- social and political situation of the countries participating in the project (methods: lecture, discussion,
     presentation)
c)  History- elements of history, political changes in the partner countries
d) Geography- the  location of Turkey,Romania,Poland,Greece,Czech republic and its influence on the
    tourism, places of natural beauty and attractive touristically ( methods: lecture, discussion,
    working in groups using the Internet and multimedia)
e) Culture Education- culture (art, music, tradition, customs) of the countries participating in
    the projectas as well as English-speaking countries (methods: lecture, report, drama- Day of
    Foreign Languages, fashion show, multimedia presentation, exhibition of their works)
f) native language- famous literary works from Turkey,Poland,Romania,Greece,Czech Republic and
    English-speaking countries
g) Information Technology- preparing multimedia presentation, films, websites, photo
    galleries connected with the content of the project and documenting all the work

 

EVALUATION

a) Once a year, after every stage, when the tasks which have been planned in the project are finished, the students participating in the project will fill in the questionnaires.The results of the questionnaires will be written in general reports, after each year of cooperation, and then published on the project website.Special teams (consisting of some teachers and students) responsible for documenting and the realization of the tasks of the project,  which have been decided earlier, will be responsible for preparing those questionnaires (the same for every school), conducting them and writing the results.
b) In every school the teachers from each team who are responsible for documenting and the realization of the project will prepare the same version of the questionnaire for every school, will conduct it and write the results of it on the project website. 
c) There will also be a questionnaire for all the students and teachers in every school participating in the project at the end of the project to check if the aims of the partnership have been met and the expected impact has been achieved. This questionnaire will be conducted by the class-teachers in their classes. They will also write the results of the project and they will be put on the project website and in the final report.
d) The opinions of all the institutions cooperating in the project will be checked in surveys by the coordinators of the project in every school, and then they will be added to the final report.
    All the opinions of the students and teachers’ as well as institutions’ will be gathered and summarized  by the Turkish school, as the coordinator of the project, and added to the final report.

 

DISSEMINATION AND THE USE OF RESULTS

          a) participating organizations- partner schools : 

          - exchanging the news and experience on the project website, through reports from the tasks which have been done during the             project and also after finishing it- final report
          - creating photo-galleries, albums, films, wall – panels, exhibitions documenting and presenting the   work on the project for the             whole school community
          - enriching the methodology in the schools participating in the project and using the new methods during lessons with students

          b) local communities:
          - informing local community with the help of articles in the regional newspaper (traditional and on the Internet), TV reports                     concerning the realization of the project and the effects
          - current information about the project will be put on the websites of local offices, institutions
          - inviting inhabitants for open events promoting national culture of the countries participating in the project (cooperating with               local cultural centres)

          - promoting the idea of the project thanks to the leaflets and posters which will be left in libraries, cultural centers, offices,
          - promoting the idea of learning foreign languages in local schools (primary schools, lower secondary schools, secondary                         schools), as a way to get rid of the barriers among nations and cultures through inviting students and teachers for open project             events
          - information about the project (final report, leaflets advertising learning of foreign languages, as a way of getting a job easier )               will be given the inhabitants through Labour Offices
          c) wider lifelong learning community:
          - putting the information, reports, final report on the project website
          - giving the leaflet version of the final report to cooperating institutions- offices, cultural centres, and local schools
          - exchange of information, ideas, interesting lessons plans among teachers participating in the project, and after it is finished,               keeping in touch with one another
         - helping the schools and educational institutions, which are going to take part in projects through exchanging information on                different forums
